How json formatter works
Your JSON is parsed with the browser's own engine, then re-serialised. If parsing fails, the error message includes the character position so you can jump straight to the problem.

FAQ
Why does my JSON fail to parse?
Trailing commas, single quotes, comments and unquoted keys are all invalid JSON. The error position points at the first offender.
Can it handle large files?
Yes, up to the memory of your browser tab. A few megabytes formats instantly.
Does it change my data?
Only whitespace and optionally key order. Values are never altered.
